From first-time producers to established production companies, Bizable supports independent Canadian creators at every stage of their producing journey.

Producers we work with

Every producer’s journey is different. Some are navigating their first funded project. Others are scaling a production company. We meet producers where they are — and grow with them.

Business affairs aren’t meant to be done alone.
We know because we’ve been there:

First-Time Producers

You’re producing your first funded project.
It’s exciting. It’s also overwhelming.

You’re learning how the industry works — the language, the processes, the players — while simultaneously trying to keep your project alive. The fear of getting something wrong, of looking incompetent, of losing the funding you worked so hard to secure, is very real.

You don’t need to figure this out alone.

Emerging Producers

You’re not new to production, but you’re new to this level of it.

You’ve moved into lead-producing for the first time. You understand the creative side deeply. But the business affairs responsibilities that come with “Big P” producing — the financing structures, the contracts, the tax credit strategies, the funder relationships — are a different world. The learning curve is steep, the stakes are personal, and there’s no room for costly mistakes.

You need a partner, not just a contractor.

Established Producers

You’ve done this before.
You know exactly what’s required.

And you’re tired of doing it yourself.

The business side of production isn’t hard for you anymore — it’s just a burden. It takes hundreds of hours away from the creative and strategic decisions you’re actually here to make. You’ve tried freelancers who disappear and agencies that don’t really get your project. You want a true extension of your team: reliable, proactive, and seamlessly integrated.

How producers usually start working with us

Producers typically come to us at one of two stages:

Funded development

Someone has given you some money to develop your project. The project structure still has room to be shaped. The financing plan and budget are still just a dream. This is the best time to work with us — when we can help you build the strongest possible foundation.

Greenlight

Once a piece of financing has been approved, you need to determine which other doors to knock on. You need to wrap your head around a possible financing plan (or two or three), contracts need to be in place, and the business side needs to be airtight before cameras roll.

Let’s talk about your project

Whether you’re producing your first project or your tenth, we’re here to help protect the work, manage the complexity, and make the process easier. Reach out and tell us where you’re at — we’ll figure out the best way to help.
